THE MUNICH VIOLIN DAYS
After Cremona, Munich is the city with the highest density of violin making workshops.
Every three years, 24 workshops, comprising 22 violin makers and 2 bow makers, present their latest handmade unique pieces at the Munich Violin Days exhibition. This extraordinary event has become an integral part of Munich’s cultural life. It attracts an enthusiastic specialist audience from near and far.
What makes it unique is that it is a hands-on exhibition: violins, violas, cellos and bows can be played by expert visitors during the exhibition hours.

The musicians change instruments and bows several times during the concert so that the audience can hear the instruments in comparison.
During the sound tests, you can hear the instruments directly in comparison. Here, all instruments of a particular type are played one after the other in short passages so that the audience can compare them directly.
Lectures on string technology, violin making and tonewood offer an interesting insight into the work of violin and bow makers.
Lectures will be held in German.
